Already Gone: No Longer Present Where You Are Now

Have you ever found yourself getting ready for vacation to such an extent that you are no longer present to where you are but in your mind, already on your journey? Can you imagine doing those last details for work and family while most of you is already gone?
Today I leave for a month in Paris. My therapy clients have been prepped, my mail has been held, my cat given to a beloved friend and bills paid. I am already gone.
I love this feeling. Suspended in time, so to speak, not really here any longer, certainly not in Paris yet. However, there is expectancy within me. The thrill of my flight taking off and letting go into the moment that needs no effort on my part. “Sit back and enjoy your flight” is the last instruction from the flight attendant and I do. This is when I find myself secure and content within myself. I have made my plans, however they actually happen, with few commitments and plenty of ‘free spirit’ exploring.
There are writing workshops at Columbia University’s Global Campus in Paris, a talk I’ll give at The American University in Paris, the Joan of Arc Festival in Reims, my 60th birthday celebration at the Jules Verne restaurant in the Eiffel Tower, wonderful family and friends who plan to visit, a long weekend planned with my beloved Josephine in Kilkee, County Clare, Ireland and many 12 Step meetings at The American Church and the American Cathedral through out each week.
All I ask the Universe is to guide me as I venture forward on this day and every day of this June, 2017, help me have an open heart and be of maximum service if need be.
Au Revoir!
