How Does the Community Reinvestment Act Work?

CRA

PCRG formed to provide a coordinated response to the bank practice of "redlining"  the refusal of conventional mortgage credit in low-income communities — and has used the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) as a tool to advocate for equitable investment practices in our region. The CRA passed in 1977 and has provided trillions of dollars of investment into minority and lower income neighborhoods. Now, you have an opportunity to learn how the CRA works and the key elements to developing partnerships with financial institutions. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Pittsburgh Branch invite you to participate in a CRA workshop.  This workshop will take place at The Kaufman Center (1855 Centre Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15219) on Thursday, July 17 from 8:30AM-2:30PM.PCRG encourages all of its community partners to attend this free workshop.  Please note that advance registration is required by July 10. Register here (https://www.regonline.com/Pittscraforcbos)For any questions regarding the CRA training, please contact Joseph Ott, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland's Senior Policy Analyst, at joseph.c.ott@clev.frb.org or (412) 261-7947.
