Announcements
- The Pittsburgh Land Bank Board of Directors meets in the City Council Chambers on the second Friday of each month from 1-3 PM. The meeting is open to the public, and the agenda is available online.
- October 16th is the last day to take the Pittsburgh Commuter Survey. Make your trip count and let the city know how you commute by filling out the online survey here.
- The 24th Annual East Allegheny Community Council Pumpkin Fest will take place Saturday, October 10th from 1-5 PM at East Commons Park. Volunteers needed: contact jackson@pittsburghnorthside.com or register here.
- Dollar Bank hosts its Annual Mortgages for Men event on Saturday, October 10th at 9 AM. Attendees learn about grant programs for closing costs; credit counseling and restoration programs; affordable mortgages and down payment options; and programs to help public housing residents, section 8 tenants, and renters (minimum annual family income requirements). Register today!
- Call for volunteers to help at Open Streets Brentwood, hosted by Economic Development South. Open Streets Brentwood will take place on Brownsville Road on Saturday, October 17th from 9 AM - 1 PM.
- If you're a first-time homebuyer, you may be eligible for the First Front Door (FFD) program, which provides borrowers with a 3-to-1 matching grant, up to a maximum of $5,000. This program can be used in conjunction with the Community Acquisition and Rehabilitation Loan (CARL), if borrowers qualify for both programs. Click here for more details on how to use both programs.
- Blight Boot Camp, presented by the Pittsburgh Blight Working Group, is a daylong workshop to learn about resources and best practices for the elimination of blight. Blight Boot Camp will take place November 7th at Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center. Register today!
