Take the Vacant Lot Survey Today!

Vacant Lot SurveyA message from Pittsburgh City Planning:One of the legacies of Pittsburgh’s economic shift is a large amount and wide variety of vacant and distressed property.  Finding viable interim uses, preserving future opportunities, and crafting long-term solutions for this inventory of land are key challenges with which Pittsburgh has been grappling.  Therefore, one recommendation of the city’s Open Space Plan (OpenSpacePGH) was a Vacant Lot Toolkit, to help develop policy and provide a resource guide for residents interested in reusing vacant lots. The intent of the Vacant Lot Survey is to better understand the needs of City residents who currently use or would like to use vacant lands throughout the City.  This will help develop City policies and procedures that streamline the process to achieve successful vacant lot projects.  This project is a partnership with the City and non-profit organizations (such as Grow Pittsburgh, GTECH, PCRG, Tree Pittsburgh, and the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy) and this info may be useful to their work as well.We appreciate your time in completing this survey, and telling us your vacant lot story. To access the survey visit:http://pittsburghpa.gov/dcp/vltk
