Next Leaders South Pittsburgh
The application deadline for Next Neighborhood Leaders has been extended to Friday, October 11. Next Neighborhood Leaders is an opportunity for emerging leaders living or working in South Pittsburgh neighborhoods (Arlington, St. Clair, Mt. Oliver, Mt. Washington, Arlington Heights, Allentown, Beltzhoover, Knoxville, Southside Flats, Southside Slopes, Carrick, Bon Air, Beechview, Brookline, and Overbrook) to explore professional and leadership opportunities in community and economic development while conducting an individual strategic plan for their own growth as leaders. This is a part-time program that requires an initial weekly commitment of 3 hours.The goals of Next Neighborhood Leaders are to:
- Identify community challenges ahead and the leadership qualities needed to navigate those challenges successfully.
- Identify and leverage leadership talent already existing in the community.
- Establish a multi-generational network of leaders capable of advancing the community’s vision.
- Strengthen cross-sector and multi-neighborhood collaboration and improve performance of community leadership.
- Help emerging leaders move into the right roles at all levels of the community.
